Academic Journey

Eka Yusup’s academic path flows through the halls of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), where he earned his Bachelor’s in Journalism in 2007, his Master’s in Communication in 2013, and finally, his Doctorate in Communication in 2019.

His dissertation explores the delicate rhythms of cultural communication, titled “The Communication Behavior of the Bajidor Jaipong Community in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia.” Through the lens of ethnographic communication, he delves into the symbolic meanings that pulse within a community of traditional music and dance lovers—those who keep the spirit of bajidor and local heritage alive with every gesture, beat, and word shared.
